Paralytic Ileus - विशूचिका 

निरुक्ति -

जिस रोग में अजीर्ण के कारण वायु कुपित होकर सूची भेदनवत पीड़ा होती है उसे विशूचिका कहते है। 

परिभाषा -

उर्ध्व व अधोमार्ग से प्रवृत आमदोष से उत्पन व्याधि को विसूचिका कहते है। 

निदान -

भोजन में लोभ तथा दूषित आमाशय वाले आशयामि व्यक्ति। 

सम्प्राप्ति -

निदान सेवन > त्रिदोष प्रकोप > आहार का उर्ध्व व अधो मार्ग से अपक्व अवस्था में निसरण > विसूचिका। 

भेद -

• वातिक , पैतृक , श्लेष्मिक 
• ऊर्ध्वग , अधोग , उभयमार्गाज 

सामान्य लक्षण -

• मूर्छा 
• चावल के धोवन के समान अतिसार 
• छर्दि 
• तृष्णा 
• कम्पन 
• दाह 

Cholera

Definition-

It is an infection of the small intestine by some strains of the "bacterium vibrio cholerae".

Cause-

Vibrio cholerae spread by - 

• Fecal-oral route.

Incubation period - Few days.

Sign and symptoms - 

• Large amounts of watery diarrhoea,
• Vomiting,
• Muscle cramps,
• Rice water stools.

Risk factor-

• Poor sanitation,
• Not enough clean drinking water,
• Poverty (poor).

Investigation-

• Stool test (freshly passed),
• Dipstick test 

Gastroenteritis/Stomach flu/Infectious diarrhoea

Definition-

Inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract that involves the stomach and small intestine.

Cause-

• Viruse - (most common cause) in children - rotavirus , in adult - norvovirus, campylobacter.
• Bacteria
• Parasites
• Fungus

Symptoms-

• Diarrhoea
•  Vomiting
• Abdominal pain
• Fever
• Lack of energy
• Dehydration

Investigation-

Stool culture

Preventation-

• Hand washing with soap,
• Drinking clean water,
• Ratavirus vacine (Children)
